The Defense Services show its willingness to support the demands claimed by the ethnic armed forces in the peace talks from the necessary corners as per the #Constitution while some of their demands are expected to be decided in the upcoming Hluttaw.

Commander-in-Chief of the Defense Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing underlined it on December 21 when meeting with staff from the Myanmar Railway (Insein).

In fact, the Defense Services have already agreed with the EAO leaders and political party leaders to amend some provisions as per the Constitutional framework.

“The 2008 Constitution provides equal rights to all ethnics and all those rights are said to be federal rights,” Senior General said.

At present, DKBA, KNU-KNLA/PC, PNLO, NMSP, ALP, RCSS (SSA), LDU, UWSA, NDAA and SSPP (SSA) attended the #peace_talks invited by Senior General for peace on April 2022. The peace talks have been reaching their third round of talks group by group.

In recent weeks, the Defense Services agreed on an informal ceasefire with Rakhine armed group Arakan Army after four months of fire exchange.
