Myanmar, Thai uplift for military tie

Two highest rank in the military in both #Myanmar and #Thailand signed agreement on protecting lives and properties of the people, especially in the border region.

#8th_High_Level_Committee meeting between Myanmar and Thai Armed Forces was held on January 20 in Thandwe, Rakhine State.

Before the 8th HLC, Myanmar Commander-in-Chief of Defense Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing welcomed the Thai counterpart General Chalermphon Srisawasdi with a grand dinner, according to the press statement released by the State Administration Council (SAC).

During the 8th HLC, Myanmar’s CIC discussed believing to strengthen mutual trust, understanding and relationship between the two defense forces.

The Chief of Defense Forces of Thailand reportedly discussed that the troops along the borderline will be able to follow rules and cooperation agreements made by the collaboration meetings in the future. He also highlighted to protect security, safety and development of the people from both countries living in the borderline area, according to the SAC statement.

The 8th HLC meeting was attended by two CICs and high rank personnel from both militaries.

Both sides signed agreement in the meeting.

As per reports, police departments of Myanmar and Thailand discussed in recent months to uncover and eliminate the insurgents and terrorist organizations along Myanmar-Thai borderline.
