Beans and pulses exporting generates over 1.3b USD this FY

According to the statistics released by the State Administration Council (SAC) on March 29, more than 1.3b USD were generated within 2022-23 FY from the export of various beans and pulses.
Production of beans and pulses is said to be the second largest in the agricultural sector taking a share of 33 percent of the related sector at the nationwide scale.
In fact, 20 percent of all cultivated lands throughout the country is used for the cultivation of beans and pulses; and 72 percent of those beans and pulses cultivation are for black gram beans, green grams, pigeon peas, yellow pigeon peas, green peas, dew gram, split Bengal grams, red lentils, soybeans, and black eye peas cultivations.
A total of 2,029,695.882 tons of beans and pulses were exported and it earned 2,570.707b USD in 2020-21. In 2022-23 FY, a total of 1,735,578.853 tons of beans and pulses were exported and earned 1,332.877b USD from April 1, 2022, to March 10, 2023, according to the statistics.
