More EV charging stations opened in Bago’s Phyuu city

More charging stations for the #electric_vehicles and buses have been opened at the 115 miles Phyuu Rest Camp on the Yangon-Mandalay expressway by Earth Renewable Energy Co., Ltd, according to the announcement made by the State Administration Council (SAC).

The opening ceremony for the new charging stations was held on April 5 at the 115 miles Rest Camp located in Phyuu township, Bago region.

Under the guidance of the Steering Committee for the National Development of Electric Vehicles and Related Industries, charging stations were constructed in four locations in Naypyidaw, five in Yangon, five in Mandalay and another five locations on the Yangon-Mandalay highway respectively during the pilot project.

Urban road network systems in Naypyidaw, Yangon and Mandalay are currently being designed to facilitate EV running; especially on Yangon-Mandalay Expressway, Yangon-Taungoo-Meiktila-Mandalay Road, Yangon-Pyay Road, and Yangon-Pathein Road.

In addition, plans are made expecting to run along the main roads such as Yangon-Bago-Phayagyi-Thaton-Mawlamyine Road, Meiktila-Kyaukpadaung-Bagan/Nyaung Oo Road, Meiktila-Taunggyi Road, Mandalay-Pyin Oo Lwin- Lashio Road.

At the present, the government has relaxed charges for the electric vehicle transportation since April 1, 2023.
