UEC approves party registrations for two ethnic parties

Two ethnic parties: Inn National League Party (INLP) and Kokang Democracy and Unity Party (KKDUP) were allowed for party registrations by the Union Election Commission (UEC).
The UEC announced it on May 16.
As per the UEC announcement, the INLP with the headquarters address at Kanthar Ward, Nyaung Shwe Town in Southern Shan State has been allowed by the UEC as per Section 9 of the Political Parties Registration Law.
Likewise, the KKDUP with the headquarters address at No. 12 Ward in Lashio located in Shan State was approved on the registration by the UEC.
The UEC granted the political parties’ registrations since April 21 and there has been a total of 16 parties as of May 17.
