NP News – Oct 23

The State Administration Council’s Information Team released the news that starting on 24th October, the prisoners’ family members will have chances to meet with the prisoners again.

Those who would like to meet with the prisoners have to apply to the Prison Department for permission along with the household registration form, National Registration Card, and COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate two times.

It has been more than three and a half years starting from 2020 March that the authorities lifted permission to meet between prisoners and families.

Therefore, the family members will be permitted again to visit the prisoners every two weeks to discuss health conditions and address other essential matters as usual.

Reports indicate that both "inmates" and "remand prisoners" will be permitted to have visits from their family members. However, "detainees" who are still undergoing investigations will not have visitation privileges.

Those who are in pre-trial detention (those who completed the interrogation process) will also be granted for visit.
