At least 15 killed in explosion in Khampat Township, Tamu

An unidentified explosion, occurred in Khampat sub-township located in Tamu District, Sagaing Region on 7 January in the morning, killed at least 15 including minors.
The incident happened in Kanang Village, as reported by the local residents.
Although it has been alleged that the explosion was resulted from the air bombardment, the Information Team of the State Administration Council denied it and affirmed that no air scout or operation has been done on the day.
The report states that the explosion occurred near the church and the school. At least 15 were killed and 30 others wounded in the reported collateral damage.
