Over 1,000 Bengalis peacefully demonstrated that they don’t want AA Rakhine insurgents who have been making terrorist acts in Rakhine State, according to the statement released by the State Administration Council (SAC) on 20 April.

Bengalis from Bumay Village and neighboring villages in both genders demonstrated on 20 April morning in Sittwe Township.

The demonstrators claimed “No NUG, AA who make destruction in the country”, “No terrorist acts”, “No more wars”, “Protect Sittwe”, and “Stop shooting with heavy weapons to villages”.

In addition, the Bengalis from villages in Buthidaung Township demonstrated in recent weeks and denounced the AA. In fact, the AA Rakhine insurgents initiated civil wars again on 13 November 2023 in Rakhine State.

At present, clashes have been occurring between Tatmadaw and AA Rakhine insurgents. AA is also committing war crimes by launching heavy weapons in 13 times into Sittwe Township killing 18 civilians, the SAC recently confirmed.
