PDF group arrests education staff, students, parents from Sidoktaya

Nine people, including teachers, students, and parents, were abducted by the PDF group on May 24 in Sidoktaya township, Magway Region, according to sources close to the security forces.
Among those arrested were two education workers, Daw Phyo Wai Myint (30), a high school teacher at the Basic Education High School in Ye Thaung Village, Sidoktaya township and Daw Cho Thazin Oo (26), an assistant primary school teacher at the Basic Education Primary School in Taung Han Dauk Village, Sidoktaya township who were arrested by the PDF group while they were waiting for a boat at the Pwint Tauk Village boat dock to go to the education office in Sidoktaya township.
In addition, Mg Zaw Zaw Aung (20), a first-year student, Ma Nwe Nwe Hlaing (21) and Ma Khin Moe Wai (20), third-year students from Magway Education College, Ma Khin Su Su Hlaing (20), second-year student at Pakokku Education College, Ma Khin Moe Wai's father, U Hla Moe (48), Ma Nwe Nwe Hlaing's father, U Than Htun (56), and Ma Papa Win (29) were also abducted by the PDF group along with the above-mentioned education staffs.
According to sources close to the security forces, the nine arrested individuals were taken by the PDF group to Magyi village, about three miles north of Pwint Tauk village, and have not been released to date.
In addition to the arrests of education staffs and students by the PDF group, on May 23, a PDF terrorist group threatened teachers and students who were accepting school enrollment in Sin Thar Mway village, Nyaung-U Township, Mandalay Region, to prevent them from attending school and to protest against the enrollment of students.
