The permanent secretary of the Labor Ministry Nyut Win told NP News that about 500 Myanmar workers will be sent to Thailand under Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) system for the first time next week.

Myanmar's migration to Thailand has been suspended since March 2020 due to the global Covid epidemic and is currently being recalled from Thailand.

“Thailand is starting to leave next week. This is the first batch about to start with an MoU and about 500 workers. If we succeed in that, we will continue to do so,” said Nyut Win.

It is reported that Myanmar workers are being sent through Myawaddy and Kawthaung gates.

Nyut Win added, “Currently, the labor market with us is the best in Thailand. Singapore is the second running up. G to G and Korea are not bad either. It also starting to go in the hundreds,” he said.

Previously, migrant workers in Thailand had to pay only 150,000 kyats to the employment agency, but now it had been increased to 300,000 kyats.
