Govt to assist livestock farming for DKBA’s regional development

Delegation team of the Democratic Karen Buddhist Army (DKBA) met with the Union Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Tin Htut Oo on June 22, and agreed to receive technical aid for livestock agriculture and farming projects.

The Union Minister Tin Htut Oo said, “We will provide technical aids for ‘maize farming’ for drying, storage, and to produce ‘finished products'. Again, we also will provide technical assistance for fish farming and animal husbandry and will help to receive domestic investments in these projects.”

Not only the regional crops, but the government will also grant land use if the DKBA is willing to develop perennial plants or coffee or cocoa for profitable purposes, the Union Minister added.

The DKBA delegation team notified that the group will always cooperate with the Defense Services when it met with Senior General Min Aung Hlaing on June 19. The government and the DKBA delegation team signed on peace agreement on June 21 after a three-day discussion.
