Garment factory providing 1300 employments commences in Pathein

The garment factory which provides more than 1300 employees has commenced operations in Pathein Industrial City located in Ayeyarwady Region, according to the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration.

The garment factory was operated as per the permission granted by the Ayeyarwaddy Region Investment Committee in accordance with Section 25/d of the Myanmar Investment Law.

The garment factory was constructed within the Pathein Industrial City with the investment of 2.770 million US dollars by Shuang Xi (Pathein) Garment Co.,Ltd. The factory imports raw materials from foreign countries and produces the brands -JAKO, and UHL Sport to export.

There are three foreign workers and 468 local workers at present. New workers are planned to be employed later.

Pathein Industrial City is constructed on 6,700 acres of land on the bank of NgaPuTaw Highway in Pathein Township, Ayeyarwady Region. In the Industrial City, there will be factories of fishery products, glass, plastic, fertilizer, and furniture in addition to the garment factories.
