DMH warns critical water level in Mae Sai River in Tachileik

The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH) has notified that Mae Sai River is expected to reach its critical water level in Tachileik. The DMH issued this notification on August 8 at an estimated 5 pm.

The water level reached 1ft below the alarming level in Lwaltawkham Ward located in Tachileik, the DMH said.

After reaching the critical water level in next day, the residential wards near the river bank or in low-lying areas are better to be alert, the DMH warns.

Flood occurred in Sangsai Ward and Maekong Ward due to the heavy rain and torrential downpour yesterday (August 8), the fire department rescued and assisted residents.

Also, Kyaukme and Lawksawk from Shan State experienced a flood yesterday.
