Shan General Yawd Serk, chairman of the Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS), told “The peace process is not a walk in the park,” therefore, trust building and perseverance are key instruments in the process.

Yawd Serk told this message during the peace talk with State Administration Council held in Naypyidaw yesterday (August 30).

The Shan General said he believes only the political dialogues with the inclusion of all actors from the political spectrum will bring out the federal democratic nation.

“The peace process is not a walk in the park. Therefore, trust building and perseverance are critical in the process. The weaker we build the trust, the weaker the unity we will have. Then we won’t accomplish the peace formulation. All stakeholders should be passionately involved in the peace-building process. Only if, would we build long and enduring peace,” General Yawd Serk said.

The peace talks between SAC and RCSS revitalize the peace process and building the federal union, General Yawd Serk remarked with regard to the current peace talks.

Delegations of both sides discussed on Schedule One and Schedule Two of the 2008 Constitution ‘Union Legislative List’ and ‘States/Regions Legislative List’. The delegations also discussed on step by step tactics that have to be implemented after 2020 in accordance with the resolution of the 9th conference of the Joint Implementation Coordination Meeting.

The talk between the peace delegation led by the chairman of the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee Lt-Gen Yar Pyae and the RCSS continued today (August 31) in Naypyidaw.
