UEC chair urges for credibility as it weights in country’s dignity

The chairman of the #Union_Election_Commission #Thein_Soe remarked that the commission’s actions weight in the name of the country’s dignity and therefore, he urged for ensuring credibility and reliability.
He addressed it during his speech on January 9 in Naypyidaw when he met with the staff from sub-commission.
“#Election means choosing someone who will rule the country or the parliamentarians,” said Thein Soe, continuing that it is the fundamental responsibility of the Union Election Commission to convene a free and fair election.
The UEC supervises the sub-commissions to proceed the electoral processes in accordance with the electoral laws and bylaws, he added.
The upcoming election will be convened under Proportional Representation instead of formerly used Fast Past the Post system.
