Mudon Airport with 8500 ft runway soon to be constructed

After compensations were provided to the residents, the #Mudon_Airport which will have over 8500 ft long runway is projected to commence the construction soon in Mon State.

An official from the Mon State government told NP News that 19 billion kyats have been given as land compensation to the farmers whose lands are on the project area in order to implement the airport. It is reported that the government paid 4,000,000 kyats per acre to the farmers as compensation.

“The Ministry of Transport and Communications will continue processes for building fences as per the budget. There are phase 1 and phase 2. The airport is expected to build over 8,500 feet long runway. The project will be implemented step by step; and the implementation process will be commenced soon,” the source continued.

The proposed Mudon International Airport will be constructed near Kawtparan Village located in Mudon Township, Mon State. Total projected area of land use will be 3447.42 acres.

In addition, an international port will be constructed in Mudon Towonship by the government.
