Authorities declare possibility of more power outages for Yangon Region

The Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation (YESC) issued a public announcement on 18th April that more schedules for power outages for a temporary plan will be imposed till the end of April.

The power outages will be resulted as Shwe Natural Gas Pipeline which supplies gas to the power stations that, then, deliver power distribution to the National Grid will be carried out maintenance works.

According to the YESC’s announcement, the maintenance work will be conducted from 18th April to 30th April.

A total of 230 megawatt is expected to decline from the power supply of Shwe Natural Gas Corporation into the National Grid system during the maintenance period. Therefore, the YESC announces there will be more power shortage in Yangon Region until end of April.
