The import items scrutiny board is organized with Deputy Minister from Ministry of Planning and Finance as the leader of the board and other responsible persons from the Ministry of Transport and Communication, Ministry of Commerce and the Central Bank.
It is reported that the board is responsible to supervise the imported items to Myanmar by ensuring their pricing and whether they follow the import rules and regulations.
It will also be responsible to supervise for eliminating illegal trade, ensuring generating the revenues for the country, matters related to custom clearance, and documentations.
For the time being, the SAC government prioritizes three areas for import and is granting the import permission.
The import prioritized sectors involve medicine, fertilizers, petroleum, edible oil, raw material for food, LPG Gas, iron and steel, electronic devices, heavy vehicles and other import items.
