SAC prepares to resume administration in Loikaw which recently damaged by Operation 1111

Reports state that the State Administration Council (SAC) is preparing required plans to re-operate the adminis­tration mechanism in Loikaw which has been spoiled by the Operation 1111 military assault in November.

On 11 November 2023, the mentioned terrorist groups launched Operation 1111 in and around Loikaw Township, Kayah State and initiated the attacks. During the operation, intense clashes broke out in Loikaw Township and the residents had to be displaced to avoid the war.

At present, the SAC is processing to reactivate the administration activities and therefore, departmental staff are assigned to the relevant department in Loikaw Township.

“Yes, about 50 job positions have been opened mainly for the administration department to reactivate which are essentials,” a source close to the depar­tmental staffs told The NP News.

Due to the clashes initiated by the KNDF and PDF, universities and basic education schools in Loikaw Township were closed; and due to the clashes, teachers and students have to study in the schools from southern Shan State.

“Currently, the territories in southern part of Loikaw remain stable. The administration process can be reactivated and the schools will be opened in that territory. Although the clashes have been frozen, there still are terrorists at the northern part of the township,” the source added.

Currently, the SAC government is making efforts to resume administrative mechanism in Loikaw Township and is preparing to rebuild the Mingalar Market, which was destroyed by Operation 1111 of the terrorist groups. In addition, it is reported that tenders are being invited for reconstruction of the Mingalar market that was destroyed by fire in the clashes.
