Election process for Hluttaws to follow legal procedures, says SAC Chairman

Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, the Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) stated on February 3, during a coordination meeting of the Union Government, that the election process for the three Hluttaw seats should be carried out in accordance with the law.
The Chairman highlighted, "The election process for the Pyithu Hluttaw, Amyotha Hluttaw, and the Region and State Hluttaws must be carried out in accordance with the law."
He emphasized that conducting a free and fair multi-party democratic general election is the ultimate objective. The government is dedicated to ensuring that future parliaments will have broad representation from ethnic groups and different social classes.
During the meeting, he advised the Region and State Chief Ministers, along with officials, to carefully study election-related laws and encouraged political parties to make the necessary preparations.
“To ensure transparency and fairness in the elections, steps are being taken to prevent electoral fraud, streamline the voting process for voters, ensure accurate vote counting, eliminate invalid votes, and promote openness,” he added.
In order to ensure this, the Chairman stated that efforts are being made to implement the use of the Myanmar Electronic Voting Machine to prevent electoral fraud and promote transparency.
