Senior General's state visit to Russia kicks off

A high-level Myanmar delegation led by the Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) departed for Russia today (May 3) for an official visit at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

It is reported that a high-level delegation from Myanmar, led by the Chairman of the SAC departed this morning from Naypyidaw Military Airport on a special flight.

The trip was accompanied by the Chairman of the SAC, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, SAC Member and Joint Secretary General Ye Win Oo, Council members General Nyo Saw, General Moe Aung, Union Ministers U Than Swe, Dr. Kan Zaw, U Ko Ko Lwin, Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw, Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win, and senior military officers, deputy ministers, and officials from the Tatmadaw and civil sectors.

During the visit, SAC chairman will hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, the Speaker of the Parliament, and other officials from the Russian government.

It is reported that during the goodwill trip, discussions will be held to further strengthen strategic cooperation between the governments and peoples of the two countries in various areas, including diplomacy, economic, security, and other sectors.
