New Mon State Party meets with SAC Chair for peace talk

Peace delegation of the New Mon State Party (NMSP) led by the vice-chair Naing Aung Min met with the negotiation team of the State Administration Council (SAC) led by Senior General Min Aung Hlaing on May 23 at Bayintnaung Venue in Naypyidaw for peace and terminating armed conflicts.

Issues related to promoting education in all ethnic regions while restoring the democracy system; progress of formulating to involve all ethnicities in the country’s affairs; practicing the multi-parties democracy system that is complied with the public desire; and building the union based on democracy and federalism were discussed by both sides.

Vice-chairman of the NMSP Naing Aung Min reportedly discussed establishing federal drafting a constitution for Mon State, according to Mon News Agency.

The NMSP will continue meeting with the peace negotiation team organized by the SAC members, and National Solidarity and Peace Negotiation Committee members to discuss peace.
