International community stays silent on terror attacks against Myanmar’s education sector: Maj. Gen. Zaw Min Tun

Major General Zaw Min Tun, the leader of the Information Team of the State Administration Council (SAC), raised questions to the international community regarding the terror violence against schools and teachers telling that the international community is ignoring those mischiefs.
Major General Zaw Min Tun told the abovementioned statement during the press conference held at the Ministry of Information on June 1 in Naypyidaw.
At the press conference, terror attacks - in which textbooks and exercise books were incinerated; schools were attacked with bombs; and teachers - were brutally killed were explained.
“It simply came to our notice then. International organizations that are always accusing our country; I want to ask if they don’t see those mischiefs. They are pretending they don’t see them. It is destroying the future of our country. Education isn’t about the ruling government but about the future of the country,” said Maj. Gen. Zaw Min Tun.
He said, “The international community that is always blaming the Tatmadaw and the media that are sabotaging the country stay silent on those terror attacks. I want to raise the questions to those who receive sponsors and donations from international organizations. Those donations you received are to kill our teachers? Or to destroy the textbooks and the future of our children? We have to consider whether we are being shaped to be uneducated and whether we are being slaved by aliens.”
On May 31, a two-storey school building in Naungcho Township was blown up by a landmine, killing a school principal and injuring seven others.
Many local organizations have issued statements condemning the Naungcho incidents.
There have been at least 500 times of terror attacks on schools by bombs, burning, or gun violence so far, according to the data released by the SAC until June 2.
