NP News - June 8
The Union Minister of the Ministry of Industry Dr. Charlie Than told that the ministry is inviting the investors to continue building the cement factories in the country.

The Union Minister made the remarks during his visit to the Max Cement factory located in Lewe Township, Naypyidaw Council Territory on June 6.

“As cement is essential for construction projects, we urge to develop cement manufacturing technologies. The Prime Minister instructed the domestic cement factories to operate at full capacity,” the Union Minister said.

Domestic cement factories function with the Dry Process and Wet Process, of which the dry method is the best suitable for Myanmar.

During the Union Government meeting No. 2/2021 which was held in October 2021, the Chair of the State Administration Council told that the government will grant loans to the local investors for functioning dry process in accord with the procedures to reduce import cement.

There are a total of 19 cement factories in Myanmar including 16 private and 3 state-owned.
