Myanmar, China discuss to uphold existing Sino-Myanmar ties

Foreign ministers of Myanmar and China discussed ways to enhance the existing ‘Pauk-Phaw Relationship’ between the two countries, according to the statement by State Administration Council.

Wunna Maung Lwin, the Union Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Wang Yi, Foreign Minister of the People's Republic of China met in Bagan City at Myanmar-China Dialogue on July 3.

The two ministers focused on enhancing the traditional Pauk-Phaw friendship that has been fostered by the two neighbor countries since their older generations of leaders with shared values and mutual respect.
The ministers discussed continuing implementations of the joint projects developed together by the two countries, and maintaining peace and stability along the borderline.

Meeting was discussed increasing the fertilizers imports from China to Myanmar; exporting Myanmar’s agricultural and fishery products to China; and cooperating to facilitate trades at border crossings, according to the statement.

Again, Wang Yi and Wunna Maung Lwin talked over affairs related to regional and international affairs, and standing closely in cooperation between China-Myanmar especially in United Nations and ASEAN communities.

Following Myanmar-China Dialogue, agreement on the transfer of funds for Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Special Fund 2022, agreement on economic and technological cooperation, and agreement on upgrading No. 2 Industrial Training School (Mandalay) with China assistance were mutually signed.

Agreement on project upgrading animal diagnostic laboratory, China’s aid for emergency epidemiological assistance amounted to Yuan 10.5m to Northern Myanmar, China’s aid for emergency epidemiological assistance amounted to Yuan 32m to Myanmar, and 1,000 ready to install houses were transferred by China and accepted by Myanmar.
