Buddhist Venerable Sayadaw Dr. Ashin Sobhita from Sagaing Region, the founder of the International Buddhist Education Center (IBEC), urged the Defense Services to call for an official peace dialogue with the EAOs, NUG, and the PDF.

The NP News made an exclusive interview with the IBEC Sayadaw.
Ethnic armed forces have taken the armed revolutionary courses for more than 70 years, Sayadaw Ashin Sobhita said.

“I hereby urge as the Stockholm World Peace Prize Award Winner. Why do they (all stakeholders) all thirst for bloodshed killing each other, ethnics, and the public? I hereby request all the leaders of ethnic armed forces to move forward to a constructive negotiation,” Sayadaw said.

The IBEC Sayadaw also urged the ethnic armed forces to give up the belligerence and to lead to building a federal nation through compromise.

Sayadaw made a special request to the NUG and the PDF to follow a proper revolutionary way without harming the public and the civilians.

“My sincere request toward the NUG and the PDF is to consider how to go to a peaceful destination through a proper and right ideology with realistic targets instead of spreading propaganda by taking advantage of the social media and the social influencer. This request is made to the NUG and the PDF,” Sayadaw said.

He remarks that there is no rule of law in the country at present and the people are losing lives and properties as the country’s crisis has been for more than one and a half years.

He continued, “Whether it is named as the military council or the Defense Services, I hereby request Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and the Deputy Chief-Commander Soe Win to invite all stakeholders to the peace talk; if repeated invitations are made to all NUG or the PDF or the ethnic armed forces, they might join the peace if they really want democracy and federal union.”

Currently, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing has met with nine EAOs for peace. However, the SAC government did not invite NUG and the PDF to the peace talk.

Sayadaw Ashin Sobhita has submitted an open letter to the United Nations concerning the current crisis and conflicts that happened in Myanmar.
