22 Bengalis arrested in Pathein District on Ngathaingchaung-Gwa Road

A total of 22 Bengali aliens were seized on Ngathaingchaung-Gwa Road located in Yaykyi Township, Pathein District of Ayeyarwady Region on August 3 at an estimated 11 pm.

The truck that carried 22 illegal aliens (Bangalis) did not stop to be inspected at Baydar Checkpoint and run away. Authorities followed the vehicle and seized nine males, ten females, and three children of illegal Bangalis. One woman fell down from the truck and died accidentally.

“Securities fired two shots because the truck was driving away. Two women fell from the truck. One died from breaking skull. One was broke in leg,” the police officer said.

On May 27, 104 illegal Bengalis who were carried by three 6-wheeled trucks were seized at Yaynathar Checkpoint in Yaykyi Township. On July 9, another 51 illegal Bangalis who were brought hiding under bamboos on the truck were seized on Ngathaingchaung-Gwa Road. A total of 177 aliens have been seized as of now.

The aliens arrested are now examined to take action against immigration law, said the local police.
