Teachers from Kachin State blackmailed to stop teaching

Teachers from Kachin State’s Hpakant and Mohnyin townships were threatened to stop teaching by terrorists, according to Myanmar Police Forces.
Teachers from Nyaungpin Village located in Mohnyin and Lawah Village located in Hpakant received threatening letters from the terrorists on August 12 at an estimated 10 am, police confirmed.
The threatening letters say ‘to stop teaching and serving at schools. Otherwise, schools will be bombed. Teachers’ lives aren’t guaranteed anymore’, police said.
Mogaung People’s Defense Force and UG Black K force claimed to send threatening letters.
Authorities are carrying out the necessary investigation to take action.
Currently, a total of 45 teachers including 25 males and 20 females were murdered throughout the country.
