An exile celebrity who is one of those joined the anti-government armed resistance courses, Kyaw Kyaw Htay Lwin (aka) Min Maw Kun committed cyber harassment against the comedian Khin Hlaing who is still residing in the domestic over livesales performance.
The comedian-cum-director Khin Hlaing immediately ceased selling via online and deleted the stream straightway after he received an offensive comment to his selling post by Kyaw Kyaw Htay Lwin.
The comedian Khin Hlaing was selling tickets to win a house which worths 9,000 lakh of Kyats and other awards developed by a local business group ‘Lin Latt San’. He broadcasted the livesales stream together with two local Tik Tok celebrities on August 25 morning.
Under their livesales broadcasting post, Kyaw Kyaw Htay Lwin commented ‘Dear Ko Khin Hlaing … I wanna warn you again not to stay cool as a normal.’
As immediately as Khin Hlaing recognized the offensive comment by the exile celebrity, the comedian lost in facial composure as being humiliated or sounded like intimidation.
The offensive comment which sounded like intimidation forced indeed the three celebrities who did just working their ordinary career for generating money to survive.
Exile Kyaw Kyaw Htay Lwin actually sought for asylum in Australia recently and was rejected. He joined the armed-resistance revolutionary courses in borderline forest areas of Myanmar following the 2021 political crisis. Since then, he has been instigating terror motions among so-called local revolutionists PDFs.
As a matter of fact, the Facebook gradually becomes toxic for the Myanmar society especially after 2016 when the country’s main opposition group gained the State power. Then, conditions turned into desperately hostile after 2021 political transition since anti-government groups obviously lined up between friends and foes.
Last month, one of the Myanmar celebrity actors with an international profile, Paing Takhon, decided to stop using Facebook after getting mass personal attacks online by the anti-government netizens for him returning back to normal life from revolution.
Since he declared moving back to doing his entertainment career basically for the reason of survival of the fittest after he was released with a State pardon in early March, the anti-government groups started attacking him in various ways of cyber bullying, even offending his personal life decisions and his lover.
Celebrities have been frequently targeted by pro-democracy netizens in Myanmar since 2021 for returning back to normal life – doing business, accepting ads, enjoying a happy life, or back to entertainment career.
Some prominent incidents were: ‘Yin Let’ a young actress got three-time life intimidation for supporting the Defense Services while ‘Zin Gyi’ a Myanmar Idol Season 2 singer was shot dead in Yangon in early June alleged as an informer. Many academy awards winner actor ‘Ye Aung’ received a bomb at his home for not supporting the revolution.
There are many other incidents of threatening celebrities beyond the reach of journalists in this political transition period.
