A Korean company wins tender for feasibility study for Mudon airport

According to the Mon State Government, a Korean company won a tender to carry out the feasibility study for Mudon International Airport.

The Mudon International Airport is projected to be constructed between Balout Nyaung Waing Village and Welkali Village in Mudon.

Myanmar Port Authority invited tender for the feasibility study for the project from May 25 to June 3.

Spokesperson of the Mon State Government Aung Kyi Thein said, “Tender invitation period has finished. We have learned that a Korean company won the bid. That company will conduct analyzing ground investigation.”

Authorities plan to provide compensations worth 72b Kyats to the people to have the land for constructing the project. The compensations are projected to provide for confiscation of lands on which locals planted crops and cultivations, Aung Kyi Thein said.

The Ministry of Transport and Communications is planning to provide the compensation so as to proceed with the projects.

Project implementation central committee has been established and the committee is chaired by the Minister of Transport and Communications General Tin Aung San.
