Myanmar delegation visits Vostochny Cosmodrome in Russia

Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Defense Services of Myanmar Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and his team visited spacecraft launching site of Russia Federation ‘Vostochny Cosmodrome’ located in the Far East of Russia.

He made this visit yesterday (September 9), according to the Information Team of the SAC. The trip to the Eastern Spaceport of Russia was a part of trip to Russia to attend the 7th Eastern Economic Forum. The forum was finished on September 8.

Senior General Min Aung Hlaing held a meeting with Director-General Mr. Yuri Borisov of the Roscosomos – the State Space Corporation of Russia.

Myanmar leader and Russian officials discussed Russian’s assistance in aerospace development in Myanmar and in-depth cooperation plans between the two nations.

Russian officials from the construction site of Angara rocket launching station and the Soyuz-2 rocket launching station from the spaceport explained technological arrangements.

History:
The Vostochny Cosmodrome was established in August 2012 and its first spaceship was launched in 2016 successfully; 11 spaceships have been launched so far.

The creation of a new space center was one of the modern Russia's biggest and most ambitious projects, Russian president Vladimir Putin had said in 2010.

Myanmar:
Albeit turmoil situation, weaknesses in internal unity, and fighting back against the western’s provocative proxy attacks at present, the country, on the other hand, is trying to restore its internal peace and national reconciliation,and is making efforts with best commitment to provide Myanmar citizens to return power amid international community.
