There were mass foreign interventions in both military equipment, money, services, and networks to the non-state armed forces, especially to newly emerged anti-government insurgents in Myanmar’s current domestic unrest.

Chairman of the State Administration Council and Commander-in-Chief of Defense Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said, “Yes, there are many,” to the question of the Russian media, “Are there external supports or aiding military equipment to the insurgent groups behind the scene of Myanmar’s internal unrest?”

He continued, “We found that many outside networks were involved in the supply chain of ammunition supports to the insurgents via ethnic armed forces.”

Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and Karen National Union (KNU) involved key roles in being played chess pieces of the West and in spreading weapons and ammunitions for terror use.

Youths from the mainland of the country join the terror training camps served by the KIA and the KNU in their territories for terror purposes.

“Weapons and services were mainly supported by the KIA from the northern part of the country. Secondly, the insurgents get training and weapons from the KNU in the southeast part of the country,” Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said.

The terrorists purchased military equipment from illegal arms dealers. As of August 2022, approximately 3,000 pistols and rifles; and an estimated 300,000 bullets and ammunitions were seized.

Reports say weapons and ammunitions had arrived in the country since 2018; and were stored and kept in squatting areas.
