Three ethnic armed forces including Wa, Mongla, and SSPP have met with Senior General Min Aung Hlaing discussed resolving political dissents through non-armed peaceful means.

Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met with United Wa State Army (UWSA), National Democratic Alliance Army (NDAA), and Shan State Progressive Party (SSPP) on September 26 in Naypyidaw.

Delegations led by UWSP vice-chairman Lau Yaku, NDAA vice-chairman San Pae and SSPP vice-chairman Sao Khae Taine attended the talk.

The three EAO delegations discussed that they respect and follow practices for non-disintegration of the Union, national solidarity, and perpetuation of sovereignty, the SAC’s statement said.

The three EAOs also discussed resolving the political disagreements through peaceful means without armed resistance, the statement said.

The ongoing peace talks will prioritize and openly discuss EAOs’ demands and the issues that should be executed for the region and the State, the Army Chief said.

Peacebuilding has to be formulated in line with the provisions stated in the 2008 Constitution and Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement, the Army Chief repeats.

The second-round peace talk between the delegation of the SAC and Wa, Mongla, and SSPP is currently held in Naypyidaw after the separate peace talks were held in the first round.
