Health Ministry announces foreign entries with incomplete health information will be charged

The Ministry of Health of Myanmar released a press statement on October 6 that foreign travelers who will enter Myanmar, especially through the border gates, shall fill in complete and correct information as per the health notifications announced by the ministry. Otherwise, foreign travelers will be charged in accordance with the law.

Those who did not have full vaccination shall quarantine for five days, the ministry announced.

Therefore, the ministry said, the retrospective analysis shall be conducted against the quarantined travelers during the quarantine period under the antigen-based rapid diagnostic tests (RDTs) within one day after their arrival and reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) tests on the third day after arrival.

Foreign travelers who entered Myanmar via the border gates are required to be fully vaccinated with the Covid vaccine, that are recognized by the Myanmar Ministry of Health, within at least 14 days before entering the country; and require to show the certificate, the Health Ministry announced.

The certificate must involve the name of the vaccine, the vaccinated date, and where the traveler was vaccinated (country), according to the ministry.

Health Declaration Form shall be reported to the respective health officers at the border gates. Lack of complete information shall be charged actions as per the laws.

Foreign travelers shall accept to be tested for the RDT at the border gates, and it will cost Myanmar kyat 15,000 per person. Travelers have to count on themselves for the test charge.

The announced rules will be started enforcement on October 8.
