Myanmar begins 20,000 tons of rice export to Bangladesh

Ministry of Commerce released the news that Myanmar has started the export of a total of 21,300 tons of high-quality rice to Bangladesh on 11 October.
Shipment of high-quality rice to Bangladesh departed from Sule Port by the MV VTC Ocean cargo ship.
The exporting process of high-quality rice to Bangladesh is conducted by the Ministry of Commerce and Myanmar Rice Federation under the bilateral agreement between the two countries.
The Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Senior General Min Aung Hlaing addressed in his recent speech at the Myanmar Rice Conference-2022 that Myanmar is trying to export two million tons of rice to Bangladesh for the third time.
Myanmar Rice Federation and Food Department from Bangladesh made a contract on exporting a total of 250,000 tons of high-quality rice. This time shipment of rice to Bangladesh by MC VTC Ocean is the initial implementation process of the aforementioned contract.
Moreover, by means of the G-to-G system, the Memorandum of Understanding between Myanmar and Bangladesh on rice trading has been extended. Myanmar exported one million tons of rice for the first time in 2017, and another one million tons of rice for the second time in 2021 to Bangladesh.
