The State Administration Council verified that victims in yesterday's Insein Prison disaster died in bomb explosions as forensic examinations on corpses were conducted.

Forensic, lab, and medical examinations were conducted on corpses and injured persons. All were confirmed dead and were injured from detonations and bomb particles that hit and flew during the explosions according to the examinations; the SAC Information Team released a press statement.

Exile media outlets that were blacklisted by the SAC reported civilians died in the blind gunfire of the security forces.

Two serial explosions went off at Yangon’s Insein Prison on 19th October at an estimated 10 am at the prison gate where packages for the inmates are received. At least five visitors to the inmates including a ten-year-old child plus three prison guards, altogether eight, died on the spot. 18 others were injured.
