The Ministry of Labor’s permanent secretary Nyunt Win said that the ministry won’t allow the Commission of Inquiry of the International Labor Organization (ILO) to enter Myanmar at all costs.
The ILO frequently releases provocative comments and statements on Myanmar with regard to forced labour and independent labor organizations. The ILO developed a commission recently to conduct a high-level investigation in Myanmar.
“We won’t allow them to enter our country and we don’t recognize it. We do not accept engaging the inspection within the country,” the permanent secretary Nyunt Win said.
The ministry is preparing to release bona fide information to counter the accusations and provocations that will be produced by the ILO soon with regard to Myanmar, Nyunt Win said.
A Committee led by Ministry of Labor Deputy Minister Win Shane was formed by the authorities to respond to the ILO Inquiry Commission on Myanmar.
“We are collecting the facts of accusations made by the ILO in forced laboring and we will prepare for countermeasures together with the governmental bodies including foreign affairs, home affairs, the Ministry of Labor and the military. We will respond to the provocative information that will disgrace our country under disinformation,” he continued.
The Ministry of Labour sent objection letters to the ILO for its actions beyond the limit of its authority against Myanmar.
