Ex-UEC chairman, ex-member granted a release by SAC upon their appeals

The State Administration Council (SAC) announced that the former chairman of the #Union_Election_Committee and former UEC member were released after they filed an appeal.

The UEC ex-chairman Hla Thein, and the ex-member Myint Naing were sentenced to three-year imprisonment under Penal Code 130 (A).

The two imprisoned ex-UEC members have filed for appeal on health grounds, old age after admitting their guilt.

Therefore, the authorities released them for sake of national reconciliation, progress to restore democracy, and showing kindness in their social life, the SAC statement expresses.

They were released from the Yamethin Prison on October 26 after being detained for a year.

With the intention to construct better coordination for the State building processes, the SAC is trying its best to be lenient on those who are imprisoned, and those who become fugitives on different concerns.

However, those who committed criminal cases will not be considered.
