Union minister urges to preserve cultural heritages with shot-term and long-term plans

The Union Minister of the #Ministry_of_Religion_and_Culture Ko Ko said that it is important to preserve the #cultural_heritages by drawing both short term and long-term plans.
The Union Minister addressed this during the workshop that was held on 9th November.
“A total of 389 stupas in #Bagan were damaged in the earthquake that happened in 2016. During the first phase of the four-year renovation project, altogether 388 stupas, except Thatbyinnyu Temple, have finished their renovation work in 2020 September.” the Union Minister said.
The Union Minister added that it is instrumental to have both short term and long term plans to preserve, protect and renovate on these tangible cultural heritage.
He continued saying that in 2021 November, altogether 30 more stupas that need preservation and renovation are found.
Out of these 30 stupas, 8 of them have finished renovation tasks and the renovation tasks on 9 stupas are still on-going. 13 more stupas are left to be renovated.
Similarly, the Union Minister also said that they have conducted preservation and protection works on 110 ancient heritage buildings proposed by Myanmar Tour Guides Association and local people.
