The State Administration Council (SAC) pardoned a total of 45 members of #KNU (Karen National Union), #KIA (Kachin Independence Organization) and AA (#Arakan_Army) #insurgents groups, which are currently leading clashes with the Tatmadaw.
The SAC released imprisoned criminals of ethnic armed forces from respective prison departments across the country on 18 November marking to honor the National Day and for the sake of the unity of ethnics and internal peace.
In the state pardon, 17 AA members; another 17 from KIA; five RCSS/SSA members; and two from KNU/KNLA were involved in the release of the SAC amnesty, according to the SAC statement.
At present, battles are arising between Tatmadaw and Arakan Army; Tatmadaw and KIA/PDF joint forces; and Tatmadaw and KNU/PDF joint forces leaving high mortality among both sides, civilian casualties, and people unroofed.
The RCSS/SSA (Restoration Council of Shan State/ Shan State Army) attended the peace talks invited by the head of SAC Senior General #Min_Aung_Hlaing. No crossfire has occurred between Tatmadaw and RCSS/SSA or other Shan troops at present.
Moreover, court cases of one AA insurgent and three from KIA that are currently facing their trials were also closed, the SAC announced.
The State Administration Council regards the year 2022 as the ‘peace year’ and invited the EAO leaders for peace. The Tatmadaw currently cease firing unilaterally. However, the KNU, the KIA, and the AA do not accept to attend the peace but continue firing.
