Myanmar-Russia’s first meeting on Anti-Terrorist Joint Committee convened

The very first meeting of the Myanmar-Russia Joint Committee on Anti-Terrorist was held at Hilton Hotel in Naypyidaw on November 30, according to the statement released by the State Administration Council (SAC).
On November 29, the Commander-in-Chief of Defense Services Senior General #Min_Aung_Hlaing received Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and First Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Russian Ground Forces Colonel-General Kim Alexey Rostislavovich in Naypyidaw and discussed bilateral defense cooperation in counter-terrorism mechanism.
Lt-Gen Moe Myint Tun from the office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and First Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Russian Ground Forces Colonel-General Kim Alexey Rostislavovich attended.
Both sides exchanged views on cooperation between #Myanmar and #Russia for the counter #terrorism activities.
Russian Defense Minister Sergei #Shoigu visited several times Myanmar. He visited few days before the 2021 political transition.
Also, Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev met Senior General Min Aung Hlaing in June 2021 and discussed on regional security and anti-terrorism activities.
Myanmar and Russia co-chaired the Counter-terrorism Meeting that was held on July 20-21, 2022 in Moscow.
United States boycotted the Counter-terrorism Meeting co-chaired by Myanmar and Russia.
