Strong 5.2 richter scales earthquake shakes central Myanmar

An #earthquake with 5.2 richter scales hit the central #Myanmar – Mandalay’s Tada-U township this morning, the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology announced.
The earthquake shook at an estimated 3:16 am on December 15.
As per the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology, the earthquake’s epicenter was 15 miles South-Southwest from the Mandalay earthquake station (four miles east to Tada-U Township).
Areas in Sagaing, Magwe and Upper Myanmar were shaken strongly by the earthquake, residents recount.
Village pagoda located in Kanbe Village, Amarapura District; and stupas and temples located in many areas of Mandalay Region fell down and torn apart in the earthquake.
Concrete lamp-post and residential houses in Maha Aung Myay Township of Mandalay were also destroyed in the disaster.
