Power substation hit by drone attack in Myawaddy

The Thingannyinaung electric power substation located in Myawaddy was sabotaged by a bomb-carrying drone on December 16 early morning at an estimated 1:30 am, wherein a fire outbreak occurred, according to the residents.

“The main transformer was bombarded at around 1:30 am this morning. The main transformer was blown up as it was hit by the drone attack. It was (the main transformer) damaged a lot as it went burning after the attack. Now the surrounding cities are in power outages,” a local source told NP News.

On the other hand, the State Administration Council has signed agreements and MOUs for constructing wind power, hydropower, solar power and nuclear power projects to generate electricity with aid from Russian Federation.

Similarly, a bridge passing over on the Myawaddy-Kawkareik Asia Highway located near Tawnaw Waterfall in Kayin State was exploded by the terrorists these days.
