Crossfire occurs between Tatmadaw, KNLA in Kawkareik

The #Myanmar_Military and joint forces of #KNLA and others exchanged fire in #Kawkareik and surrounding areas in Kayin State on December 16 at an estimated 5 am.
The joint forces of KNLA and its allies attacked a troop of the Tatmadaw that took camp at Tadakyo Checkpoint eight miles away from Kawkareik, according to a resident near the incident.
Again at an estimated 6 am on December 16, the KNLA and allies attacked the Tatmadaw Battalion No. 231 that took camp three miles away from Kawkareik, the source continued.
The KNLA and its allied forces also attacked the police department and security forces in Kawkareik Town in October in which civilian casualties occurred.
