Suu Kyi’s lawyers submit closing argument today

Lawyers of the former State Counselor #Aung_San_Suu_Kyi submitted the closing arguments for five #corruption cases before the court today (December 26) at the Naypyidaw Prison Court.

“The final argument has been submitted today. There won’t be another court trial tomorrow. All trials are projected to finish within this month,” the source close to the court said.

The court verdicts for the five corruption cases are expected to be made in the upcoming week, assumption arises.

A total of 19 cases were filed against Suu Kyi after the 2021 political transition including corruption cases in purchasing a helicopter and utilization of State-owned lands. Amongst, verdicts have been made for 14 cases in which the court sentenced her to 26 years of imprisonment a total.

It is reported that Suu Kyi’s lawyers have the right to copy the statements made by her before the court. However, they are not allowed to disclose the information involved in it to the public.
