1,122 houses burnt down in Sagaing and Chin: SAC’s data reveals

According to the statement released by the State Administration Council (SAC) on January 24, a total of 1,122 residential houses were burnt down by joint forces of #PDF #terrorists and #KIA insurgents in November and December 2022.

In the SAC announcement, it is stated that these houses were burnt down by NUG/PDF and KIA Groups between November and December 2022 in Chin State and Sagaing Region.

According to the SAC announcement, most arson attacks took place in Tigyaing Township and Kathar Township in Sagaing Region where a total number of 2,231 houses exist in Tigyaing Township. Among these 2,231, 100 houses were totally burnt down in four villages, another 50 houses were damaged in six villages; and less than 50 houses were destroyed in another four villages respectively. Therefore, a total of 870 houses were burnt down in Tigyaing, Sagaing.

Moreover, in Kathar Township in Sagaing Region, about 270 houses from six villages where there are 1349 houses were burnt down by the terrorists.

In summary, a total of 1,122 civilian houses in Sagaing Region and Chin State were burnt down during 23 times of arson attacks.
