As per information from the watermelon traders from #Muse, the lorries loaded with watermelons will be allowed to enter China depending on the market demand.
According to the on-ground report, trucks from Myanmar were suspended at the custom gate on 5th February, which left at least 500 watermelon trucks were stuck.
“In the afternoon, the road was reopened. Probably around 100 lorries may come in. Next day, the road won’t be blocked. The vehicles have to take turn and in accordance with the demand and then the lorries will be allowed.” Vice Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce of Muse-NantKham Border, Sai Khin Maung said.
Although demand of watermelon from China’s side is getting high, the exporters could not make good profit due to delay and reduction in freshness, some of the fruits had to be rejected.
Delay occurred in the #border_trade_route since changes happened from border trade level 1.0 to 2.0 in China’s custom office.
It is also announced that all goods and commodities (including Non-License) exported from border areas from Myanmar must apply and register at Myanmar Tradenet 2.0 system to get the QR Code for export.
