Tachileik- Mae Sai Friendship Bridge expected to reopen

As per reports, the #Tachileik-_Maesai_Friendship_Bridge linking Mae Sai District in Thailand and Shan State in Myanmar has possibility to reopen in near future. The renovation works of the bridge are being conducted in Myanmar side.

The Bridge has been in closure due to the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic for three years.

The bridge is expected to be reopened in late February if the Shan State Chief Minister visits and meets with Thai authorities on February 18 and 19.

The opening of the bridge will be up to the result of the discussion between Myanmar and Thailand authorities, according to the reports. After 2021 political transition, the State Administration Council has opened up one after another of the border gates and bridges between Myanmar and Thailand. Last year, the border gates and checkpoints between Mae Sot and Myawaddy has been reopened.
