Myanmar leader meets with Chinese delegation for peace process

Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met with Special Representative for Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, H.E Mr. Deng Xijun on March 6 in Naypyidaw; and discussed the internal #peace_process of Myanmar and China’s assistance on it, according to the news released by the SAC.

Border affairs, progress on peace talks with the ethnic armed forces; and Chinese’s assistance on the implementation of the country’s peace were discussed during the meeting.

As per the announcement, the two sides discussed on bilateral cooperation on the anti-narcotic operations.

Uplifting bilateral trade; revitalizing the commodity flow between two countries; issues related to borderline stability; economic cooperation and coordination in multi-sectors were discussed by the delegations.

At present, the SAC is holding peace talks with ten EAOs; meanwhile, remaining EAOs are also invited to join the peace talk initiated by the government.

The Chinese Special Representative also met with National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee led by Lt-Gen Yar Pyae in Naypyidaw.
