Clashes between Military and Kawthoolei Army push civilians displaced

Armed conflicts between the Military security forces and insurgent Kawthoolei Army were intense; fatality high; and forced many civilians displaced and run heading to borderline with Thailand.
According to the reliable sources, joint forces of the Kawthoolei Army and PDF terrorists attacked the military troops and Border Guard Forces which took foothold near Htee Kaw Htaw village near Shwe Kokko new city in #Kayin_State on 5th April early morning.
Causalities were high between two sides, according to the residents.
The armed clashes continued up to early morning of 6th April near Shwe Kokko city.
“Because of the armed conflicts, thousands of local people are leaving their houses and fleeing towards the Thai border area”, one of the humanitarian assistants who is helping the IDPs recounted.
To help the displaced people, Buddhist venerable Sayardaws and monks from Thabawa Meditation Center is negotiating with Thai local authorities to open up the temporary refugee centers beside the Thaungyin River in Mae Sot.
